Family Caregiver - Funding Guidelines
Funding generally is limited to projects that are in keeping with the stated objectives.
Goal:
Family caregivers (and those providing self-care) require the support of a broad range of comprehensive solutions, knowledge and skills combined with an attitude that restores the values of happiness, contentment and comfort that can be attained only through maximizing self-reliance and incentive based striving to thrive.
Objectives:
- Knowledge and skills that support aging in place
- Attitude, respect and sensitivity that form the foundation of quality elder care
- Social behaviors (purposeful interaction) that create sensitivity to people challenged by aging needs
- Strategic observation that creates the circumstance of pro-active and anticipatory elder care-giving behavior.
- A technology based delivery system that is widely accessible, appealing and easy to use. The delivery system will provide three major utilities:
- Distance Learning
- A communication network that links critical resources to needs
- Interactive responses to the specific needs of the individual
Organizations seeking funding must qualify under the regulations of the United States Internal Revenue Service.
Requests will be also considered to assist:
- Proven research and design techniques to the needs for assessment, intervention, training, behavior management, and technology.
- Universities, private companies and corporations in businesses related to aging, individuals with strategic ability to provide content on aging needs and solutions.
- In the purchase of licensing rights of known or existing intellectual property or know how that will facilitate achieving the objectives.
Requests will not be considered for:
- Capital building projects
- Schools, colleges and universities outside the United States.
