Recognition
- Legislative Recognition
Since November 2002, ELF has been engaged in extensive work to inform state legislatures about the hope for groundbreaking solutions to critical elder needs that will restore meaningful quality of life to millions of aging people now solely dependent on the limited resources of long-term care. The governors of Nevada and Virginia have signed legislative proclamations giving formal recognition to the current and future efforts of Elder LifeCare Foundation to solve America's aging crisis.
Program Updates
- ELF plans to broaden its comprehensive solutions to America's continuum of aging dilemmas
ELF's long range initiative is to raise the bar on quality of life for all people on the continuum of aging, from birth to final years. ELF's core strategies will enable comprehensive solutions across age groups that share the benefits of a powerful single proprietary process aimed at re-training cultures supplying services to aging needs in a way that provides continuing management oversite, controls costs and sustains the quality of the changes. Financial resources can place these criticallly needed solutions within our immediate reach. Proposals are currently being shared with Global American Foundation that would expand our capabilities in two key areas: youth initiatives and gero-psychiatric day treatment. As with all ELF initiatives, both programs are planned to scale to the national (and international) need in a few short years. And, the unique organizational approach that operationalizes these programs returns significant revenue that perpetually sustains the continuance and expansion of other ELF initiatives. At the inception of funding, ELF will begin plans to implement programs to affect quality of life for America's working families and children, thus completing the circle of programs aimed to collaboratively ease the pain of people on the pathway of aging.
- New Construction For the Aging
With the expert and knowledgable assistance of Mr. Richard Harrison, a career real estate developer and construction contractor, a new initiative will be enabled through the grant process of Elder LifeCare Foundation. In fact, talks have begun to plan the first Elder LifeCare Foundation retirement living community that by combining the unique expertise and guidance of ELF product development grantees will provide groundbreaking design and solutions. Location surveys have been completed in Oregan and Florida. Kent Lenhard, executive director of ELF and a career architect will be providing creative guidance and coordination. Kent says, "we are very excited about the opportunity to enhance and facilitate our leading edge program solutions with critically needed new directions in environmental and building design".
- Baltimore Initiative
The prestigious Johns Hopkins University is a key participant in the ELF long-term care solution strategy. Hopkins will receive curricula developed by ELF to be used in training a new generation of staffing to deliver sustainable solutions to world's long-term care initiatives.
