Corporate Updates
- Paul Wehman, PhD.
Dr. Paul Wehman, internationally renown head of youth research and development at Medical College of Virginia, has agreed to contribute his efforts to enabling youth programs funded by Elder LifeCare Foundation. The ELF Youth Development Initiative is directed toward contributing to the development of quality of life for America's developing youth. All too infrequently do parents, teachers, community leaders, and others consider facilitating the development of quality of life solutions in America's youth. These are sadly neglected skills which, if developed early, will lead to the youth achieving higher productivity and higher levels of quality throughout their lives.
The ELF Youth Development Initiative believes youth enjoy a higher quality of life when they have achieved a balance between their social adjustment skills and their emotional adjustment skills. Therefore one of the major thrusts will be to develop products, materials, partnerships which will result in increasing the development of these two classes of skills in children and youth.
- Elder Depression and Anxiety Program - Ready for Launch
At almost crisis levels, America's senior citizens are victims of stress and uncertainty that result in a ubiquitous state of anxiety and depression. ELF has ready a proprietary program that has been fully tested, is validated and demonstrated to return enormous short term benefits to the elderly. In fact, Solutions will bring benefits and meaningful value to elders living at home and in long-term care where facilities will realize significant cost relief.
ELF has designed this program to run through the outpatient departments of hospitals, which can realize cost benefits and increased efficiency in meeting a critical community need.
- Iris Parham, PhD
A critical objective of ELF is to retrain the culture of America's long-term care facilities to bring a better quality of life to their elder residents. To accomplish this objective, care givers will need dramatic improvement in their skills and abilities that also include changes in social behaviors. Dr. Iris Parham, who heads the gerontology and geriatric division of Virginia Commonwealth University has dedicated much of her career to developing these curricula. ELF is very fortunate to have Dr. Parham agree to join our efforts to deliver the value of her work to America's caregivers.
Public Policy Initiatives
As part of the ELF public policy initiative, we feel a responsibility to provide a message that honestly informs American's youth and workers about the sad state of their futures. ELF will also provide the pathway for a quality of life solution.
