The Price of Social Welfare

Reasons For Concern

The Greek writer Polybius tells us that the Athenian Democracy collapsed once the people figured out they could vote themselves other people's money. Politicians became corrupt as soon as they figured out they could get re-elected by redistributing other people's money to specific groups favorable to them. Sadly, most Americans have suffered years of suave political conditioning successful in fostering circumstances of ignorance, fright or complacency. Thus, the citizenry is rendered unable to comprehend the true reality of the United States government that, while systematically devaluing self-reliance and personal initiative, has empowered itself by playing a corrupt game that thrives on the exploitation of dependency. The current condition of the two party ruling system in the United States is simple to understand: Republicans (so called conservatives) propose wealth redistribution on a small scale and Democrats (so called liberals) propose a wealth redistribution on a larger scale. At the core, the two parties are very much the same. In practice, the difference is in the amounts involved and the particular groups targeted for bribery.

Citizens gifted with the perspicacity to understand the current state of affairs, should be in a state of high vigilance and prepared to act in protection of their own interests.

Some say this sounds radical, … I firmly believe it is our most basic obligation. A corrupt society earns no loyalties or allegiance.

Take heed, the cost of all this political folly. Sooner or later, all of the lavish living and lavish spending by our political classes is going to come to a crashing halt. When debt, public and private, is measured in the trillions - meaning that trillions of dollars of future income have already been spent - then common sense tells you a bad day of reckoning is coming. I don't see how people, corporations and the government are going to earn the trillions necessary to pay for past fraudulent consumption and fund future needs.
